Berlin plays host to the 10th round of the Formula E season on May 25th.  The German capital receives the competition at a decisive moment, with only four races remaining until the end of the championship.

DS TECHEETAH arrives at this race in an unprecedented position in the Formula E history: the team enter the round as championship leaders for the Teams, with drivers Jean-Éric Vergne and André Lotterer in first and second place respectively in the Drivers’ championship. For the first time in the championship a team secure the two top positions in the Drivers’ championship.

Jean-Éric Vergne said: “Winning Monaco was a season highlight but now that’s behind us and we focus on the rest of the season. Berlin can be treacherous, and we have to be on top of our game to succeed there.”

André Lotterer said: “We’ve had a couple of home races now for the team and for Jean-Éric but now it’s my turn to race on home soil and I’m very excited to race in front of the German fans. We will run a special livery on my DS E-TENSE FE19 car for the occasion.

It will be the second time I race at Tempelhof and it will be cool to be back. It’s a cool location to race and the racing is good there. Our main focus will be on scoring as many points as possible to secure our positions in both championships.”

Efacec heads to Berlin with young talents to experience Formula E behind the scenes

Efacec will provide a special experience during Berlin E-Prix to a group of five young talents from Portugal. These special guests are the top five candidates that stood out during “Formula Efacec”, an initiative that Efacec launched last April to challenge higher education students and recent graduates from Science, Technology, Engineering and Math areas to think and to propose new solutions regarding the future of energy, mobility and environment.

During the E-Prix, these young people will have the unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of a Formula-E race and to follow the dynamics of the race side-by-side with DS TECHEETAH Formula E Team, supported by Efacec.

Another group of five young people will have a similar experience during Bern E-Prix, on June 22th.

“Formula Efacec” initiative materializes Efacec’s new positioning, anchored in innovation, technology and proximity. This new approach reaffirms Efacec as a Portuguese main employer at the same time presents itself as a company that creates new opportunities for talent from different knowledge areas, and not exclusively in the engineering area, developing a stimulating professional career in an ecosystem based on innovation, knowledge and creativity.

30% of Efacec’s electric mobility orders come from Germany

Recognized as one of the main European markets in the field of electric mobility, Germany is one of the most important export destinations of Efacec. The company has already manufactured and installed in the country more than 1,000 fast and ultra-fast chargers for EVs. In 2018, the German market accounted more than 30% of the orders of Efacec’s electric mobility business unit.

Pioneer in the electric mobility sector and a world leader in the production of fast and ultra-fast chargers for electric vehicles, Efacec has been partnering for several years with major automotive manufacturers and works along with leading utilities and EV charging points operators. The technology designed by the company is equipping R&D centers of automobile manufacturers and supporting large charging point infrastructures distributed throughout the country.

Among the projects developed by Efacec in Germany stands out a partnership with Porsche within the scope of the Mission-E project for the development of a high-power charger. Efacec is focused on the development of ultra-fast charging equipment tailored to the battery requirements of a Porsche’s EV, as well as the design of an innovative mobile charging solution, customized to the customer needs.

Efacec is also a partner of the European MEGA-E project, led by Allego company, to set up a pan-European high-power charging (HPC) network consisting in 322 ultra-fast charging stations and 27 so-called e-charging hubs throughout Europe, namely in Germany, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden or Denmark. This project is co-financed by the European Union states that each charging stations will provide four HPC charging points, allowing that four EVs with power charge up to 350 kW could simultaneously charge their battery.

The company is making a strong commitment in this sector, providing a full range of electric vehicles chargers for private, public, fast and ultra-fast segments.

Efacec’s new electric mobility dedicated facilities, inaugurated in 2018, materialize the company´s continuous commitment to the production capacity, R&D, innovation and to product engineering. This approach allowed Efacec to launch new projects, namely integrated storage solutions, integrated solutions (hardware and software) for home and fleet charging. The company is also working in charging solutions for truck fleets, evolving its range of high-power solutions.

The company actively participates in the largest markets for electric mobility, especially in Europe and the United States.
