Efacec has just launched a challenge to higher education students and recent graduates (bachelor and Master) from Science, Technology, Engineering and Math areas. This competition is called “Formula Efacec” and aims to find new solutions for the future of mobility, energy and environment.

With this initiative, Efacec portrays its culture and values at the same time identifies new talents for its different business areas. The competition will run in three phases: an online application, a Speed Interview and a Hackathon.

The online application process runs until April 11th and is done at https://formulaefacec.com. Following a curriculum vitae review, the best applicants will be contacted for a telephonic Speed Interview where the 150 top applicants will be invited to the final stage, that will take place on April 18th, in Lisbon.

The final stage is entitled “Formula Efacec Hackathon”. Throughout an intense day of work, the candidates get in touch with Efacec employees, evaluators and mentors from Efacec and from the best Portuguese universities that will help them to go through a series of challenges on Efacec’s key segments: Energy, Mobility and Environment. The candidates will also have the opportunity to meet DS TECHEETAH’s Gen2 car, which will be coming to Portugal exclusively for this event, and to interact with André Lotterer, DS TECHEETAH Formula E Team driver. The top five candidates will be selected to win a trip to a Formula-E race during season 5.

The campaign will also have an online dynamic, called “Growth Hacking”, an additional way to win a trip to a Formula-E race. The “Growth Hacking” is an online competition that will appeal to the candidates’ creativity and their ability to generate social media engagement. After completing the online application form, applicants will be invited to submit a video and compete for likes on Facebook. Each video shall be recorded with two people and both shall be eligible applicants. The applicants whose video gathers more likes on Facebook will win a trip to a Formula-E race.  The first “Growth Hacking” round will take place from March 25th to April 11th and the second round from May 6th to 20th. In each of the two rounds two winners will be designated for a total of four winners.

“Formula Efacec” initiative materializes Efacec’s new repositioning, anchored in innovation, technology and proximity, and its purpose to design a smarter future for a better life. This new approach reaffirms Efacec as a main employer at the same time presents itself as a company that creates new opportunities for talent from different knowledge areas, and not exclusively in the engineering area, developing a stimulating professional career in an environment based on innovation, knowledge and creativity.

Connecting universities and research centers is a differentiating factor for Efacec as a leading company in technology and innovation. Efacec has a relationship with Porto Business School, an exclusive partner of the Mast3r Academia Efacec Management School; INESC TEC, partner for scientific research, technological development and technology transfer activities, a relationship that has recently been extended for another 25 years; and FEUP, which has Efacec’s support in the financing of PhD and research programs.

Throughout 2018 Efacec reinforced its people and talent strategy with initiatives aimed to strength the teams with new knowledge, new skills and new talent for the future. It stands out the launching of the recruitment program “700 Recruta +”, the relaunching of Efacec’s training school “Mast3r Academia Efacec” and the development of “Tech Trainees Efacec” program, aimed to recruit new Engineering graduates.

Sandra Pombo, Efacec Global Brand and Communications Director, says that “Formula Efacec” initiative goes beyond a simple activation with higher education students. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know the real Efacec, a modern company that innovates and design products and solutions that contribute to the sustainability of the planet Earth, are used by sophisticated companies and streamline people daily life around the world. This innovative and tech ecosystem is a distinguishing asset of Efacec that we want to enhance, attracting the best talent from universities to reinforce our teams with creativity and disruptive thinking”.
