The closing event of the Grid’s Predictive Management Considering Distributed Energy Resources (GPDER+) project, led by Efacec and co-financed by the European Union under the scope of Compete2020, took place on June 29, in digital format.

The online workshop was attended by almost one hundred professionals and included the intervention of Paulo Viegas, responsible for the GPDER+ project, Luís Gonçalves, from Armis, José Andrade and Jorge Pereira, both from INESC-TEC. The opening and closing sessions were in charge of Miguel Gomes, from Efacec.

Throughout the event, the benefits that will allow the simplification of the electrical grid challenges and decision support systems in the control rooms of distribution networks were highlighted. Additionally, the event provided an opportunity to present solutions that can address climate change and promote the use of renewable energies in an increasingly efficient and reliable way.

Efacec, as the leading promoter of the GPDER+ project, researched and developed a SCADA/DMS System dedicated to the Predictive Management of the Distribution Network, as well as a DRMS (Demand Response Management System) Platform, to implement new business models for the Management of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) operated by different entities.

In the future, a pilot test will be developed, in a real-world environment, to promote more efficient use of the renewable resources available to a distribution network. Thus, it will be possible to contribute to the reduction of the carbon footprint associated with the production and transport of electricity from fossil sources.
GPDER+ was developed in partnership with INESC-TEC, ARMIS and PH Energia and implemented over 30 months, performing tasks of research and experimental development, promotion, and dissemination of results, as well as project management and coordination.

GPDER+ was developed in partnership with the co-promoters INESC-TEC, ARMIS and PH Energia and implemented over 30 months, involving an investment of around 1.3 million euros, with tasks of research and experimental development, promotion and dissemination of results and project management and coordination.
