  • In 2009 in the scope of the InovGrid project, EDP started installation of the first set of G Smart controllers supplied by Efacec. With 390 devices already operating in the field, it is expected that a total of 500 devices will be installed until the end the year. The main function of the G Smart devices is to control MV/LV Transformer Stations together with meter data gathering. With an average of 100 meters per unit but able to accommodate up to 1000 meters, G Smart controllers will interface around 30 thousand meters in the scope of the first phase of the InovGrid project.
