“At a time when water is of crucial importance and its scarcity is a global concern, the project at the Nykobing WWTP plays a relevant role as it contributes to the correct use and distribution of this vital commodity, also contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, namely SDG 6: Ensure access to water and sanitation for all,” he adds.
Applications ran until 30 September 2021 and were divided into five categories – services, contract works, supply, start-up and R&D&I, with some of the criteria considered in the evaluation of the projects consisting of:
- Relevance for the future of the company and/or potential for replicability or for the materialization of a new strategic partnership.
- A “winning” project in comparison to international competitors.
- Positive externalities for other Portuguese enterprises.
- Incorporation of Portuguese added value, in terms of manpower, know-how, technology or products.
