Project developed 100% remotely and adopting a set of requirements, processes and controls with the objective of managing the organization’s Information Security
Efacec obtained the ISO/IEC: 27001:2013 certificate that proves its commitment to managing product development information security and qualification and life cycle management for power systems automation products.
ISO 27001 certification will enable increased satisfaction and trust from partners and customers as well as enable increased efficiency and effectiveness of operations and, consequently, international recognition of the company and entry into new markets that require this certification.
Compliance with this certification will guarantee the confidentiality of information, which must be used confidentially by Efacec and, simultaneously, ensure customers, suppliers and shareholders the integrity of their data and systems.
Implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) benefits Efacec, both in terms of its corporate culture, by making employees aware of the importance of information security, and externally, by opening up new business opportunities with clients who value information security. It also improves employee ethics, promotes the importance of confidentiality in the workplace, strengthens information security, and eliminates possible risks of fraud or information loss.
The international recognition of the ISO 27001 certification clearly demonstrates the validity of Efacec’s information and its real commitment to security.
The process of obtaining certification was completed in December 2021 and is valid until December 2024. This project, managed in accordance with best practices and involving heterogeneous teams from various Corporate and Business areas, in addition to all the circumstances associated with Covid-19, was carried out almost entirely in remote mode. The certification audit went smoothly, with no significant non-compliance issues, as a result of a shared commitment by the whole team and a well-led preparation in advance.
For Américo Guerreiro, Information Security Manager at Efacec, “Information security is a fundamental premise at Efacec. In that sense, and within the scope of the global Cybersecurity program, this certification guarantees an extra level of confidence to our customers and partners about the way we work and the way we handle and manage information.”
With a comprehensive presence in the Energy, Mobility and Environment value chain, Efacec acts as a supplier of solutions and integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) systems and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) services partner.
