Efacec has just consolidated its environmental expertise by participating in the construction of the largest biogas plant in Europe, located in Korskro, Denmark. Twelve months after the beginning of this project, the infrastructure was already working and will produce approximately 37 million Nm3 of biogas per year for up-grading and injection into Denmark’s natural gas network. This project represents an amount of 9,3 million Euro for Efacec.
The biogas plant belongs to Nature Energy company and is based on the circular economy concept. As one of the main contractors of the project, Efacec was in charge of the design, construction, delivery and installation of “Supply of Machinery and Electrical Equipment” including the SCADA system.
The biogas plant processes 708.000 Tons/Year of biomass from which 521,000 tons will be slurry (manure), 100,000 tons will be deep bedding, grass silage and energy crops and 87,000 tons will be organic by-products.
The inauguration session of the biogas plant was attended by the Minister for Development Cooperation of Denmark, Ulla Tørnæs.
