Iberdrola awarded Efacec the Supplier of the Year Prize. This prize is awarded at international level.

Efacec which received the award in the category of social responsibility, has been trading with Iberdrola since 2001, supplying equipment for all the companies of the Iberdrola Group (Iberdrola Distribución (IBD); Iberdrola Generación; Iberdrola Renovables; Iberdrola Ingenería y Conctrucción; and Scottish Power); this represents around 25% of the Efacec Orders quota on the Spanish Market.

Iberdrola awarded, on November 27th. at the Riojaforum Convention Centre, LOGROÑO, the VIII Prize of the Supplier of the year. During the award ceremony, the Company focused again that through this prize award, it aims to stimulate the sustainable development, the quality and respect for the environment as well as to prevent accidents at work in the company management of its suppliers which are chosen depending on their commitment with the points referred to here above as well as according to their technical and manufacturing capability

Fernando Becker, Iberdrola’s Corporate Resources Director pointed out that the relationship of the company with its suppliers is considered a strategic matter, as the selection of the best equipment along with their good maintenance are considered key points for the activity of the company which therefore prefers to establish long term relationships with its suppliers, namely to help them to feel integrated in the company business.

He also pointed out the international nature of this prize, awarded to companies chosen among all Iberdrola suppliers at international level. He moreover enhanced the decisive contribution of the winners as Iberdrola is nowadays one of the five largest Power Utilities in the world.

The first supply made to the Group (in 2001) corresponded to the delivery of a 400 kV Shell type transformer at Monterrey (Mexico) for an Iberdrola Ingenería y Conctrucción project. After this first supply Efacec initiated a more regular and closer relationship with several companies of the Iberdrola Group, which resulted in the supply of different types of transformers of 132kV and 220kV (35MVA to 125MVA). In 2009 Efacec supplied to the company the first mobile substation for the power distribution network (40MVA-220kV).

Beyond the supply of transformers and mobile substations, Efacec marks presence in the Iberdrola Group through its activity of Energy Servicing (Contracts for the repair of different types of transformers; transformers transfer; erection, testing and commissioning of the new transformers supplied since 2001).
