Efacec wins electrification of the second phase of the Bergen Metro

Efacec was the company chosen by the Norwegian company Bybanen Utbygging to perform the electrification works of the 2nd phase of this project made in the city of Bergen. This expansion will connect Nesttun to Lagunen with an extension of approximately 3.6 km of a two-way route and 5 new stations.

This contract, signed in April 2011, amounted to about EUR 4 million. Efacec will be responsible for supplying an entire range of energy components, from Catenary to Traction substations and Local Power Remote Control. All these systems include applications and equipment developed by Efacec, ensuring that a fully integrated solution is provided and that it is perfectly adapted to the functional and operational requirements requested by the customer.


With the signing of this contract, Efacec achieved another important success for its international expansion in the field of Power Solutions for Transportation.
Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, with nearly 250 thousand inhabitants, is the heart of culture, commerce and higher education in the West Coast of Norway.
